How to do Mindful Meditation

healthy pre workouts

You can practice mindfulness meditation as often as you want. You should start slowly, only taking a few minutes per day. As you get more comfortable with mindfulness meditation, you can increase the time. It is better to set a timer, and then stick to it. An initial session of fifteen minutes per day is sufficient for beginners. It will become easier to work for an hour each day as you get more used to it. Britt Gustafson, a VIVAYA teacher, recommends that you start your day with five to 10 minutes of mindfulness.

You can use a daily mindfulness meditation practice as a springboard to your everyday life. When your child is playing in the bathtub, focus on their eyes rather than your mouth. You can also relax while snuggling with your spouse/significant others. You'll be amazed at how many times you feel happier and less stressed. You can even unleash your creative side by practicing and you will start to see the bigger picture.

FAQ

What's the difference between a virus & a bacterium?

A virus is a microscopic organism which cannot reproduce outside of its host cell. A bacterium can be described as a single-celled organism which reproduces by splitting in two. Viruses can be as small as 20 nanometers, while bacteria can grow up to 1 micron.

Viruses spread easily through contact with infected bodily tissues, such as saliva and urine, semen, vaginal secretions or pus. Bacteria are usually spread through direct contact with contaminated objects or surfaces.

Viral infections can be transmitted through skin cuts, scrapes and bites. They can also penetrate the skin through the eyes, nose or mouth.

Bacteria can enter our bodies through wounds, cuts, scrapes, burns, insect stings, or other breaks in our skin. They can also be introduced to our bodies by food, water and soil.

Both bacteria and viruses cause illness. Viruses can not multiply within the host. So they only cause illnesses when they infect living cells.

Bacteria can cause illness by multiplying in the body. They can infiltrate other parts of the body. That's why we need antibiotics to kill them.

These are 5 ways you can live a healthy and happy life.

Living a healthy lifestyle involves eating right and exercising regularly. Avoiding sugar and processed foods is key to eating well. Exercise can help you burn calories and strengthen your muscles. Sleeping enough can improve memory and concentration. Stress management can reduce anxiety and depression. Fun keeps us vibrant and young.

What is the difference of fat and sugar?

Fat can be a source of energy that is obtained from food. Sugar is a sweetener found in fruits, vegetables, and other foods. Both fats as well as sugars contain the same amount of calories. Fats have twice the calories of sugars, however.

Fats are stored in the body and contribute to obesity. They cause cholesterol buildup in arteries which may lead to heart attacks and strokes.

Sugars are quickly absorbed and provide instant energy. This causes blood sugar levels to rise. High blood sugar levels can cause type II diabetes.

Exercise: Is it good or bad for immunity?

Exercise is good for your immune systems. Exercise increases white blood cell production, which helps fight off infection. Your body also removes toxins. Exercise helps to prevent heart disease and cancer. Exercise also helps to reduce stress levels.

But, too much exercise can lead to a weakening of your immune system. When you exercise too hard, your muscles will become sore. This can cause inflammation and swelling. In order to fight infection, your body must produce more antibodies. However, these antibodies can also cause allergic reactions and autoimmune diseases.

So, don't overdo it!

Does being cold give you a weak immune system?

It's been said that there are two kinds of people in the world; those who love winter and those who hate it. It doesn't matter if you love it or not, it is possible to wonder why it makes you feel so miserable when it gets cold outside.

The truth is that our bodies are built to work best when it's warm. In fact, we evolved to thrive in hot climates because that's where most of our food sources are located.

But now we live in an environment that is very different from how our ancestors lived. We spend much more time indoors, often exposed to extreme temperatures (cold and heat), and we eat foods that are processed rather than fresh.

This means that our bodies aren’t used to these extremes. When we do venture out, our bodies are unable to cope with the extremes.

These effects can be reversed, however. The best way to avoid these problems is to ensure that your body stays hydrated throughout the day. If you drink plenty of water, you'll help keep your body properly hydrated and flush toxins from your system.

A healthy diet is another important thing. Consuming healthy food helps maintain your body's optimal temperature. This is especially helpful for people who spend a lot of time indoors.

Consider taking a few moments each morning to meditate. Meditation helps to calm your mind and body which can make it easier to deal stress and illness.

What does "vitamin" actually mean?

Vitamins are organic compounds naturally found in food. Vitamins aid us in absorbing nutrients from the food we eat. The body cannot make vitamins; therefore, they must be obtained from food.

There are two types vitamins: water soluble or fat soluble. Water-soluble vitamins dissolve readily in water. You can find vitamin C,B1 or thiamine, B2 or riboflavin and B3 or niacin, B3/niacin, B6/pyridoxine, folic Acid, biotin and pantothenic Acid as examples. Fat-soluble vitamins can be stored in the liver or in fatty tissue. Some examples include vitamin D and E, K, A and beta carotene.

Vitamins are classified according their biological activity. There are eight main groups of vitamins.

  • A – Essential for normal growth, and the maintenance of good health.
  • C is important for nerve function and energy production.
  • D - necessary for healthy bones and teeth.
  • E - Required for good vision & reproduction
  • K – Required for healthy nerves & muscles.
  • P - vital for building strong bones andteeth.
  • Q - aids digestion and absorption of iron.
  • R - Red blood cells are made from red blood cells.

The recommended daily allowance of vitamins (RDA), varies according to age, gender, physical condition, and other factors. RDA values are set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

For example, the RDA for vitamin A is 400 micrograms per dayfor adults 19 years or older. Pregnant women require 600 micrograms daily to support fetal development. Children ages 1-8 require 900 micrograms per day. Infants under one year of age require 700 micrograms per day, but this amount decreases to 500 micrograms per day between 9 months and 12 months of age.

Children between the ages 1--18 years old who are overweight or obese require 800 micrograms per Day, while those who are overweight or obese need 1000 micrograms. To meet their nutritional needs, children underweight and obese require 1200 micrograms a day.

Children 4-8 years old who have anemia must consume 2200 micrograms of Vitamin C daily.

2000 micrograms daily is required for adults over 50 to maintain their general health. Because of their higher nutrient needs, women who are pregnant or nursing need 3000 mg per day.

Adults over 70 years of age need 1500 micrograms per day since they lose about 10% of their muscle mass each decade.

Women who are pregnant or lactating need more than the RDA. Pregnant and breastfeeding women require 4000 micrograms each day during pregnancy and 2500 Micrograms each day after delivery. Breastfeeding mothers need 5000 mg per day when breastmilk is being produced.
